What do you think of this??????
New York has abandoned me, spit me out street smart…
No more dazzling, blinking eyes of Upper East side flirtations
No more embraced by Coney Island shores
East Village edginess is sanded smooth/lame
Cessation of emerald glimmerings – Central Park tours
Midtown faceless, packed/pushed/pricked
Bowery parlors squabbled, ditched
Small town Astoria warmth frozen cold/hard/sharp
Greenpoint love land now ripped apart
Seamless skies blackened clear
Starless – lit by lamps luminosity sphere
Scrapped by towers of sky and penetrating glance
New York hasn’t given me a chance…
End of the mourning night
Twilight fades in lulls to day
New dawn depressed…
Shimmers grieving sunlight display
Grey wasteland salted spun
Urban springs dried bland/un-won
New York has spit out my love, excreted my heart
Desolate bleak land I know not how to part
o_0, your point Tory?
This has an interesting, unusual perspective. It’s not really dark, more like vivid realism.
This line: Scrapped by towers of sky and penetrating glance – brilliant
There are a few parts that seem a bit more colorful than meaningful, not that it’s a bad thing. I don’t always connect with what you’re saying, but I find your writing creative and original, almost daring; an admirable quality. No one could ever accuse you of being cliche.
