Styles of Lamps and Shades by KurtZier1
Lamps and shades come in many different styles and sizes and can be an
excellent source of light and decoration for any room. Lamps and
shades go together like peanut butter and jelly, but luckily they can
be switched around and interchangeable to change the look or freshen
up a room. Depending on the type of lamp, a complimenting shade should
be chosen that matches the rest of the room. Choosing the right lamps
and shades should always start with the lamp’s base. Floor lamps are
usually much taller than other lamps and have large bases or
pedestals. Floor lamps can cast light upwards to the ceiling or down,

miniature table lamps and can be placed on a mantel, countertop or
bookshelf. Buffet lamps are similar in that they are for decoration,

surround artwork, a mirror, or to be placed between books or pictures
on a table. Wall lamps are popular in bathrooms and bedrooms because
they are mounted directly onto the wall and usually have a swinging
arm that allows the user to pull it out and point it wherever needed.
This makes it nice to have just the right amount of light available
where you need it when getting ready in the bathroom or reading late
at night on your bed. There are so many different types of designs and
shapes that lamps and shades can come in, and choosing the right ones
comes down to personal taste and matching the rest of the décor of
your home. Lamps and shades can come in Victorian styles, with ornate
bases and fancy shades with elaborate designs or tassels. Contemporary
styles are great because they have
